CLUBS GET ORGANIZED

Ms. Koll will have organizational meetings for two separate clubs during the week of October 13. The first meeting is for 5th grade students who are interested in joining the Technology and Library Club (TLC). Students who are interested will meet Wednesday in the LMC during their noon recess. The second meeting is for 4th grade students who are interested in joining the Read On Book Club. Those students will meet on Thursday in the LMC during their noon recess.

The TLC group learns how to check books in and out of the LMC and how to put books away. They also learn how to use the equipment available through the LMC (such as digital cameras and InFocus projectors), so they can help out when their class uses these items. They meet twice a month during their lunch. Members eat in the LMC while they meet. Those who keep their grades up and don't fall behind in their school work can also sign up to work once or twice a week as a library helper.

The Read On Book Club will meet once a week in the LMC. Their challenge is to read 3 to 5 suggested books. Multiple copies of the books are available, so they can work together in small groups. Members will bring their lunch to the LMC and discuss the book(s) they are currently reading. Each group will complete some type of visual project after reading each book. At the end, the entire group will determine which of the titles should be placed on the Meadowview Intermediate Favorites List and shared with the rest of the school.
