CLUBS BEGIN

The Read On Book Club had its first meeting Friday, October 24; 22 4th grade students ate their lunch in the LMC and got their first book. The books being used this year are: Listen by Stephanie Tolan, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo, The Missing Manatee by Cynthia deFelice, The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau, and Please Write in this Book by Mary Amato. Each group created its own reading calendar and will be prepared to discuss the main characters and the central problem on Wednesday, October 29, during their second meeting. Due to the large number of students, this club is currently full. Another Book Club opportunity will begin after the Christmas holidays.

The Technology and Library Club (TLC) will meet for the first time on Wednesday, October 29, during the 5th grade lunch period. Members will be introduced to the rules of LMC work and to the LMC computer program. In addition, the first work schedule will be created. The TLC group will continue to meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday.
